PoE Pass Through

AXTON PoE Pass Through Standard - The illuminator and the camera can now be powered using the the same CAT 5e/6 cable without needing an active splitter. On the AT-6E model series our Engineers have simplified the process and created a solution which requires only one cable run. For example, in a PoE powered environment there is a budget of 12 W of power available. If the camera uses 6 W and the illuminator uses 6 W, then the same cable can be used for both. For those running PoE+ with an allotment of 24 W, the system can also pass through the remaining power to the camera. For example, if the illuminator consumes 6 W and the camera utilizes 12 W there would still only be a need of running a single cable.

For PoE+ users there is a no-cost option for adding this feature to the AT-12E.

Why IR?
How does AXTON measure distance?

AXTON measures distance according the usable image reflected back to the camera lens. When referring to the data sheets we calculate using a CMOS (The most commonly used in security applications) chip with medium optics and viewing an object with nominal reflectivity. We consider a practical picture one which is created when the light starts at the camera and goes out to the item and then returns to the sensor.

The better the equipment the more beneficial the results. Many competitors will either specify optimal outcomes from superior instruments or not provide the details of how the information was collected.
